TUCSON, Arizona -- Tiger Woods had a straightforward passage into the semifinals of the WGC Accenture Match Play Championship when he defeated South Korean KJ Choi three and two in the quarterfinals.

Woods had an easier time against Choi than he had in some of the earlier rounds.

The victory earned him a match against defending champion Henrik Stenson of Sweden who beat American Woody Austin by two holes.

Woods, who came from three down to beat JB Holmes in the first round and needed 20 holes to eliminate Australia's Aaron Baddeley in the third round on Friday, was never in jeopardy against Choi.

They traded the first two holes and were all square through the front nine.

Woods won the 10th with an eagle, and 12 and 14 with birdies.

In other quarterfinals American Justin Leonard beat Fiji's Vijay Singh by one hole and American Stewart Cink beat US Open champion Angel Cabrera of Argentina three and two. E-mail to a friend E-mail to a friend
