(CNN) -- Luke Donald will miss this week's French Open as he continues his recovery from a wrist injury.

Donald is falling behind in the race for Ryder Cup points.
The injury forced his withdrawal from the US Open at Torrey Pines when he was joint 23rd with four holes to play.
His left wrist was strapped by medics but he decided not to carry on.
The world number 18 is slipping behind in the Ryder Cup race and is in danger of having to rely on a wild card pick from captain Nick Faldo.
He did not compete in the in the BMW International in Munich last week and has decided to give the wrist another week's rest.
Ian Poulter, who also withdrew from the German event after quitting the US Open with wrist trouble on the opening day, is still among the entries for Paris.
