Mississippi's Gulf Coast, which sustained major damage three years ago in Hurricane Katrina, fared better Monday as Hurricane Gustav slipped west, giving Louisiana the brunt of its powerful east side.

? Bay St. Louis: The town is cut off from any entry from the east. The newly rebuilt Bay Bridge is closed because of high winds and flooding of U.S. 90, and Mississippi 603 south from Interstate 10 is impassable, covered by 8 to 9 feet of water. Read full article »
