KABUL, Afghanistan (CNN) -- A bomb blast at a hydro-electric power plant in southern Afghanistan killed two workers at the plant and wounded eight other people Saturday, a police official said.
Helmand provincial Police Chief Mohammad Hussain Andiwal said the bomb at the power plan in the Helmand province's Gerishk district was remotely detonated.
The chief blamed the "enemies of Afghanistan," a term often used by Afghan officials to describe Taliban militants.
He said the wounded included six employees of the plant and two civilians who were passing by when the explosion happened. E-mail to a friend ![]()
