LAHORE, Pakistan (AP) -- A ruling party official says Pakistan's coalition government will introduce a parliamentary resolution on May 12 to restore judges fired by President Pervez Musharraf.

Coalition partners Nawaz Sharif, left, and Asif Ali Zardari at the Dubai talks Thursday.
The issue is critical to the survival of Pakistan's month-old civilian government.
Restoring the judges also could hamper Musharraf's ability to cling to the presidency.
Farahnaz Ispahani, a spokeswoman for the Pakistan People's Party, told The Associated Press of the intended May 12 resolution on Friday.
The details came after marathon talks in Dubai between PPP leader Asif Ali Zardari and former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who leads the second biggest party in the government. E-mail to a friend ![]()
