JAKARTA, Indonesia (CNN) -- Officials found the bodies of 18 people who died in a military transport plane crash south of Jakarta, Indonesia, an Indonesian Air Force official said Saturday.

The CASA C-212 with 13 passengers and five-member crew disappeared Thursday over the Salak Mountains, according to Chaerudin Ray, a spokesman for the Indonesian Air Force.

The plane was on a mission to try out a digital mapping camera and took off from Halim Air Base, officials said.

Bad weather has slowed the effort to remove the bodies from the area, Ray said.

Among the passengers were a Briton, an Indian and a Singaporean. All three were employees of the camera company.

CNN's Kathy Quiano contributed to this story.
