BEIJING, China (CNN) -- Explosions on two public buses killed two people and wounded 14 Monday in Kunming, a city in southwest Yunnan province, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.

The first explosion happened around 7:10 a.m. (7:10 p.m. ET Sunday), just after bus Number 54 stopped at the Panjiawan bus stop, a traffic coordinator told Xinhua. One person was killed and 10 others wounded in that blast. The front of the bus was damaged and the area littered with shattered glass, Xinhua reported.

About 55 minutes later, another explosion damaged a bus at a nearby intersection, killing another person and wounding four others, Xinhua said.
