ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (CNN) -- A suicide bomber detonated explosives in a mosque in northwest Pakistan during evening prayers Thursday, killing seven people and wounding six others, authorities said.

The attack -- which took place in the Mamond Tehsil area of Bajaur Agency -- occurred during maghrib prayers at dusk, said assistant political agent of Bajaur Agency, Safi Ullah. Bajaur Agency is part of Pakistan's Federally Administered Tribal Areas.

The attack may have targeted a "lashkar," or a tribal militia established to fight militants and the Taliban, Ullah said.
