ISLAMABAD, Pakistan (CNN) -- A car exploded in front of a Shiite mosque in northern Pakistan on Friday, killing 19 people, police said.

The car exploded in front of the Alam Dar Karbala mosque in Peshawar, in North West Frontier Province, police said.

No other further details about the explosion were immediately available.

Video from the scene showed chaos, with people crowding the streets, some carrying people who appeared to be injured. A fire raged through what looked like a car.
