MADRID, Spain (CNN) -- A car bomb exploded Monday in the seaside town of Getxo, in northern Spain, causing damages but no injuries, according to CNN's sister network in Spain.
The bomb exploded after a warning call in the name of ETA, a group that has fought for Basque independence since 1968, CNN Plus reported.
The explosion happened in a town that is home to many well-to-do Basque professionals. Getxo has been the target of numerous ETA attacks, and police say the group occasionally asks some in Getxo to pay a "revolutionary tax" in exchange for not being attacked.
On Wednesday, a bombing that authorities blamed on the ETA killed one member of the paramilitary Civil Guard and wounded four others.
Since ETA officially ended its cease-fire in June 2007, authorities have blamed the ETA for four deaths, including the Civil Guard member who was killed last week.
The United States and European Union list the ETA as a terrorist organization.
