GAZA CITY (CNN) -- An Israeli airstrike in Gaza City on Wednesday missed its target and struck a car carrying a Palestinian family, killing all three -- including a teenager -- Palestinian security and medical sources told CNN.
The security sources said the airstrike was intended for another car.
The Israel Defense Forces said it is checking the report.
The Israeli military has recently stepped up its campaign against the terrorist infrastructure in Hamas-controlled Gaza, killing at least 15 Palestinians in and around Gaza City on Tuesday -- one of the highest death tolls in recent months. E-mail to a friend
