Remembering Michael Jackson
Pop music icon Michael Jackson died on June 25 after suffering cardiac arrest at his Beverly Hills home. Life.com chronicles the highs and lows of Jackson's career in photos. Beginning with his debut with the Jackson 5, the photos document his rise as a solo artist to the pinnacle of worldwide fame. But behind the trappings of fortune and glamour were hints of a troubled and often bizarre private life. His domineering father thrust Jackson into the limelight at an early age. His friends say he tried to create a childhood he never had behind the gates of his private California ranch, appropriately named Neverland. Jackson fought accusations – and charges -- that he sexually molested young boys, and over the decades his appearance changed radically. Nevertheless, Michael Jackson remains one of the best-selling musicians of all time, with a devoted legion of fans across the globe.
