LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- TV talk show host Jay Leno was released from the hospital Friday, his representative said.
"We [are] happy to say that Jay Leno is feeling much better and has been released from the hospital," Tracy St. Pierre said. "He's anxious to return to work on Monday."
NBC canceled tapings of "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" scheduled for both Thursday and Friday and replaced the broadcasts with reruns after Leno fell ill and checked himself into a Los Angeles hospital Thursday, St. Pierre said.
Leno will be 59 on Tuesday.
CNN's Anderson Cooper, anchor of "Anderson Cooper 360," had been scheduled to appear on Friday's show.
CNN's Jack Hannah contributed to this report.
