(CNN) -- Andy Murray booked a rematch with Richard Gasquet after easing to victory over Arnaud Clement in the second round of the Dubai Open.

Murray took under 90 minutes to reach the Dubai quarterfinals in straight sets.
The second seed proved too strong for experienced Frenchman Clement, wrapping up a 6-2 6-3 win in less than 90 minutes, with his serve particularly effective.
There was also no sign of the ankle injury that forced Murray to pull out of the Marseille tournament last week and affected him in his first-round victory over Sergiy Stakhovsky on Monday.
But the 21-year-old is likely to have a much tougher test in the quarterfinals on Thursday against Gasquet, who he famously came back from two sets down to beat in the fourth round at Wimbledon last year.
It proved a good day for the leading players, with all the seeds also progressing through to the last eight of the competition.
Top seed Novak Djokovic won the evening match, but he was far from impressive in defeating Czech Jan Hernych 6-3 3-6 6-4.
Third seed Gilles Simon crushed Teimuraz Gabashvili of Russia 6-1 6-2 while David Ferrer of Spain, seeded fourth, saw off Philipp Kohlschreiber of Germany 6-4 6-2.
Croatian Marin Cilic made it a good day for the seeds with a victory over Julien Benneteau of France -- but the fifth seed was made to work hard for his 6-3 4-6 7-5 success.
