(CNN) -- The inner workings of a Formula One team are normally shrouded in mystery, with constructors keen to keep technical innovations -- which provide the edge on raceday -- secret from their competitors.

However, Force India -- a team who have surprised many with their late-season form -- recently invited CNN to look behind the scenes at their headquarters building.

Chief race engineer Dominic Harlow leads a guided tour around his team's Silverstone base in Northamptonshire, England ahead of the Singapore Grand Prix.
