(CNN) -- Coach Louis Van Gaal is still seeking his first win in charge of Bayern Munich following Saturday's 1-1 home draw with Werder Bremen, which left the German giants four points behind champions Wolfsburg after only two rounds.

Wolfsburg won for the second successive week, coming from behind to triumph 3-1 away to Cologne in Saturday's late kick-off.

Dutchman van Gaal, whose side drew 1-1 at TSG 1899 Hoffenheim in last weekend's opening match of the Bundesliga season, was without the services of injured captain Mark van Bommel, defender Martin Demichelis and striker Luca Toni, while Christian Lell was suspended.

Real Madrid target Franck Ribery started on the bench, and made his first appearance of the season when he came on with half an hour to play.

Bremen, who won 5-2 at the Allianz Arena last season, picked up their first point this season as playmaker Mesut Ozil netted the opener with a low shot in the 39th minute.

He had earlier seen his free-kick headed against the Bayern post by Petri Pasanen.

However, Bayern's summer signing Mario Gomez leveled in the 72nd minute with his first goal since leaving Stuttgart after starting up front with Miroslav Klose.

Germany striker Klose failed to impress in his first start this season, and was replaced by Croatia's Ivica Olic -- who soon tested Bremen keeper Tim Wiese.

Wiese then denied Ribery, who set up Olic for another chance that the former Hamburg forward squandered, but the breakthrough came as Gomez stuck out a leg to just beat the goalkeeper to Phillip Lahm's cross and divert the ball into the net.

Wolfsburg went behind four minutes after halftime as French midfielder Ehret gave Cologne hope of earning their first points this season.

But Edin Dzeko, Wolfsburg's second-highest scorer last season, opened his account for this campaign in the 73rd minute and Pierre Wome put through his own net 60 seconds later.

Nigeria striker Obafemi Martins wrapped up the victory with his first goal since joining from English club Newcastle in the 87th minute, having come on as a second-half substitute for his debut.

Hamburg and Bayer Leverkusen were on four points alongside Eintracht Frankfurt after their first wins of the season.

Hamburg crushed Borussia Dortmund 4-1, with four goals coming inside the opening 12 minutes.

Guy Demel put the hosts ahead after just three minutes but Nelson Valdez leveled 60 seconds later before Ze Roberto and Jose Paolo Guerrero put Hamburg firmly in control.

Summer signing Marcus Berg wrapped up the scoring in the 71st minute, with the Sweden U21 star having come off the bench as a substitute.

Leverkusen won 1-0 at home to Hoffenheim, with striker Stefan Kiessling scoring the only goal in the 67th minute.

Frankfurt were held 1-1 at home by Nuremburg, with Swiss striker Albert Bunjaku leveling for the visitors in the 65th minute after Caio's 17th-minute opener.

Stuttgart bounced back from the opening-day defeat by Wools to beat Freiburg 4-2 as summer signing Pavel Pogrebnyak netted the opening goal in the 53rd minute.

Midfielder Elson doubled the lead with a 65th-minute penalty, then made it 3-1 on 76 before Mohammadou Idrissou scored his second for the visitors (85) and young striker Julian Schieber made it safe for Stuttgart (89).

In Sunday's matches, Borussia Monchengladbach host Hertha Berlin and Schalke are at home to Bochum.
