(CNN) -- Welsh striker Craig Bellamy maintained his impressive recent form with a second-half equalizer as Manchester City fought back to draw 1-1 at Aston Villa in Monday's Premier League match.

Craig Bellamy celebrates his equalizing goal as Manchester City earned a 1-1 draw at Aston Villa.
Villa took the lead in the 14th minute when former Man City captain Richard Dunne out-jumped former Villa hero Gareth Barry, who was booed throughout by the home fans, to head in a Stephen Warnock corner.
The home side had the better of the half but City nearly levelled when keeper Brad Freidel did well to tip a header from the returning Emmanuel Adebayor over the crossbar.
Barry went close to setting up a City equalizer within two minutes of the start of the second half, but his probing pass only just failed to pick out Adebayor's run.
Dunne had a good chance to score for the second time but this time his header from James Milner's corner slid just wide.
City continued to press though and after 67 minutes Bellamy brought them back on level terms with his fourth goal of the season.
Shaun Wright-Phillips won the ball and released substitute Stephen Ireland who then played the ball into Adebayor down the channel.
He cut the ball back to Bellamy and the Welsh international hammered the ball home from 12 yards to send City up to fourth place, above Arsenal, in the table.
