(CNN) -- Country music and the road have forged a partnership that has resulted in a half-century of unforgettable songs.

Now on tour, Martina McBride continues that tradition as she shares snapshots and video from unique places she's discovered on her American road trip.

McBride stopped in Moline, Illinois, where she stumbled on a 100-year-old ice cream and candy cafe.

Lagomarcino's mahogany booths, old-time soda fountains and homemade chocolates remind patrons of a bygone era not long after the turn of a previous century.

In the coming weeks, McBride shows us other surprising road trip discoveries as her tour bus rolls through Wisconsin, Minnesota and Colorado.
