(CNN) -- The United Nations said Saturday that it will conduct a humanitarian mission in Zimbabwe in the wake of a raging cholera outbreak.
The visit, scheduled for February 21 to February 25, comes at a time when Zimbabwe has taken historic steps to solve the political and health crisis.
Zimbabwe's parliament unanimously passed a resolution Thursday to form a unity government with President Robert Mugabe and the opposition.
The move may put an end to political squabbles that have paralyzed the country's government since last year's disputed election between Mugabe and the opposition party Movement for Democratic Change.
The cholera epidemic in Zimbabwe has claimed almost 3,400 lives and infected about 65,000 people since August, aggravated by a lack of water treatment chemicals and a problem with waste disposal in much of the country.
