JOHANNESBURG, South Africa (CNN) -- The parliament of South Africa elected Jacob Zuma as the nation's president Wednesday.
The parliament is dominated by members of Zuma's party, the African National Congress, and the vote was widely expected.
The ANC won about 66 percent of the vote in nationwide parliamentary elections last month.
Zuma is to be inaugurated Saturday.
