(CNN) -- Colombian customs agents have seized nearly $11 million in cash smuggled aboard a ship from Mexico, the agency's chief said.

Wednesday's seizure at the port of Buenaventura may be the nation's largest, officials told Caracol Radio.

The money was stashed in plastic bags inside two containers filled with a chemical industrial product, customs chief Nestor Diaz said in an interview with Caracol Radio. Each bag contained $700,000.

No arrests have been made, Diaz said.

Colombian officials said the shipment originated in Manzanillo, on Mexico's Pacific coast and the nation's busiest port.
