(CNN) -- The former Danish supermodel traveled to Peru earlier this year to record the lives of local people in the Andes. Together with Oxfam she returned to show a selection of her photographs around the world in an exhibition called "Meltdown."
Peru has been cited by Oxfam as the third most vulnerable to the effects of climate change after Bangladesh and Honduras, with over 35 percent of the population living in poverty.
"For so many of us, climate change is a distant idea belonging in the future but for millions of people in developing countries, it is a devastating reality," said Christensen before her exhibition was displayed in London's Proud Gallery in November.
