(CNN) -- More than 60 passengers were feared dead after a riverboat collided with a trawler in southern Bangladesh Thursday, police said.
The collision took place in the Kirtonkhola river near the city of Barisal, located about 70 miles (120 km) south of the capital city, Dhaka.
The boat was ferrying about 100 passengers, said police Superintendent Taufiq Mehboob Chowdhury.
Some 25 passengers swam to safety. By Thursday evening, police had recovered five bodies.
Asked about the prospects of finding additional survivors, Chowdhury said, "I don't think so."
