BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- A parked car packed with explosives detonated in a cattle market south of Baghdad on Thursday morning, killing at least 10 people and wounding 56 others, Hilla police said.

The explosion took place about 8:30 a.m. (12:30 a.m. ET), according to police.

Hilla is about 100 kilometers (63 miles) south of Baghdad.
