PARIS, France (CNN) -- All airports in the Paris area will be closed to air traffic Monday evening through Tuesday morning due to concerns about the weather, French civil aviation authorities announced.
Severe winds with strong gusts of as much as 100 kph (62 mph) were expected, officials said.
No flights will land in or take off from Paris airports between 8 p.m. Monday (2 p.m. ET) and 10 a.m. Tuesday (4 a.m. ET), officials said.
The move could affect air travel around the world.
