TEHRAN, Iran (CNN) -- The former editor of the semi-official Iranian Students News Agency (ISNA), who had ties with Iranian opposition leader Mir Hossein Moussavi, was arrested Tuesday, Iranian media reported.
Mir Hamid Hassanzadeh, who now is an advisor to the general manager of ISNA, was involved in Moussavi's reformist presidential campaign and the candidate's Web site, Ghalam News, according to Iran's Norooz News, a reformist news agency.
Moussavi was chief rival to hardline incumbent President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who was declared the overwhelming winner of the June 12 election.
News of Hassanzadeh's arrest was first reported by Parleman News, a news-gathering organization for the Path of the Imam Khomeini faction of Iran's parliament.
Hassanzadeh is a close friend to Moussavi aide Abolfazl Fateh, ISNA's founder and chief of advertising for Moussavi's campaign, Norooz reported.
The arrest was made at the ISNA office in Tehran, where Hassanzadeh's computer was also seized, Norooz reported.
Fateh, the Moussavi aide, who had been studying in England, was banned from leaving Iran nearly two weeks ago for "his efforts to arrange for the illegal gathering of Moussavi supporters," state-run media reported.
