Tokyo, Japan (CNN) -- Daihatsu Motor Company announced Thursday that it was recalling more than 274,000 vehicles for problems with their suspension systems.
The recalls involve the automaker's Hijet, Hijet Deck Van and Atrai wagon manufactured between 2004 and 2009.
Daihatsu also recalled small numbers of its Mira and Move Conte models for defective engine breather hoses, and the Hijet refrigerating minivan for a defective light cable.
The move comes at a time when Daihatsu's majority shareholder, Toyota, has already issued recalls for more than 8 million of its vehicles.
