(CNN) -- A overnight gang-related shooting in Vancouver, British Columbia, early Sunday has left 10 people injured -- two critically, according police officials.

The Vancouver Police Department took an undetermined number of people into custody Sunday morning after the shooting, according to a statement released by the Canadian law enforcement agency. Police responded to the shooting shortly after 2 a.m.

According to police, six men and three women were taken to area hospitals to be treated for gunshot wounds. Two victims were listed in critical condition. A tenth victim refused treatment.

The shooting took place on Oak Street, which remained closed Sunday because of the investigation. Police said they were continuing to interview witnesses.
