(CNN) -- icon this month explores photography and meets some of the most iconic photographers of the last few decades.

David Bailey, one of the most influential pop culture artists of his generation, defined the look of the 1960s.

Bailey has captured stars like Michael Caine, Andy Warhol, The Rolling Stones and Twiggy.

His latest exhibition of photographs entitled "The Stockdale Effect" is at the Paul Stolper Gallery in December and he is the focus of a major feature in fashion magazine i-D.

However, Bailey doesn't just confine his artistic output to the camera and has embraced sculpture and painting. He says he considers all art forms relevant irrespective of medium. icon visits his sculpture exhibition and meets him at home in Dartmoor, UK where he escapes to paint and sculpt.

The program also visits artist and painter Julian Schnabel -- best known as the Oscar-nominated director of "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly" -- in his Manhattan studio.

He now reveals his passion for photography with a collection of pictures taken on his giant Polaroid camera -- an astonishing device which stands six-feet-tall, produces 20x24 inch prints and is one of only six cameras surviving from the 1970s.

The program also meets David La Chapelle, who is regarded by many as one of the greatest avant-garde artists of our time.

La Chapelle developed his signature style under the tutelage of Andy Warhol and just like the pop art pioneer, his humor and irony have made him a favourite amongst celebrities.

icon gains exclusive access to his home in Hawaii -- an organic farm thriving with artists and creative minds, where the likes of Lady Gaga and Michael Jackson found inspiration for their work. Whilst there, he talks about photography, organic food and going back to "making art."
