(The Frisky) -- It's two days until the Oscars, and we are so, so ready to see who wins already.
Last week, we showed you that the guy who has the most nominations generally wins for best actor, making this year's race a three-way contest between Jeff Bridges, George Clooney and Morgan Freeman, who have all been nominated five times throughout their illustrious careers. We predicted that Jeff would come out ahead, since Morgan is just creepy and two of George's nominations aren't for acting, but writing and directing.
But now we have even more reason to think Jeff will come out victorious. Why? Because he showed off his vocal chops in "Crazy Heart." Who knew the dude could sing like that? He sounds like the love child of Tom Waits and Neil Young.
Ciao, bella! Rob Marshall's musical "Nine" didn't become the blockbuster sensation or critic's pick that many expected it to -- Kate Hudson, Nicole Kidman, Marion Cotillard, and Daniel Day Lewis are among the many who sang in it. But the standout crooner of the flick was Penelope Cruz, who is nominated for best supporting actress this year for her role in the star-studded musical. It's her second nomination in the category in a row -- she won last year for "Vicky Cristina Barcelona." Could this be a repeat?

In 2008, French actress Marion Cotillard scored the best actress Oscar win with her portrayal of singer Edith Piaf in "La Vie En Rose." Oui, oui. Her killer vocals no doubt had something to do with why her performance stood out from the rest of the pack
Jennifer Hudson's dream came true in 2007 when she won the best supporting actress Oscar for her portrayal of Effie White in "Dreamgirls." Her version of "And I'm Telling You I'm Not Going" still gives me chills.
In "Walk the Line," Reese Witherspoon and Joaquin Phoenix were both awesome as June Carter and Johnny Cash. Both were nominated for the top acting awards in 2006. Joaquin was beat out by Phillip Seymour Hoffman's pitch-perfect performance in "Capote," but Reese Witherspoon walked away with the best actress statue that year.

In 2005, Jamie Foxx won best actor for his portrayal of Ray Charles. No wonder -- he was not messing around with his version "I Got a Woman" in the movie "Ray." The Academy was enchanted.
In 2003, Queen Latifah, Catherine Zeta Jones and Renee Zellweger all got Oscar nods for getting musical in "Chicago." Renee was edged out by Nicole Kidman in "The Hours" for best actress. But Catherine Zeta-Jones came out victorious in the best supporting actress category. And all that jazz.
While she won best actress in 2003, Nicole Kidman was also nominated in the category in 2002, for belting out some gorgeous ditties with Ewan McGregor in "Moulin Rouge." Given the pattern of the years after, we're shocked she didn't win for picking up the microphone.
