300 firefighters battle 9 wild fires in California

(CNN) -- Almost 300 firefighters battled nine wild fires in Lassen County in northeast California, late Saturday night after storms and lightning came through the area, authorities said.

Seven of the fires have been put out, but crews planned on working into early Sunday morning to contain the other two, said Helen Frazier, a dispatcher with the Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch

The largest of the fires are the Potato and Constantia fires in the Sierra Mountains, about 90 miles north of Reno, Nevada, Frazier said.

Frazier said the Potato fire covers 350 acres, while the Constantia fire has destroyed 200 acres and two homes.

The other seven fires were throughout the Reno area and were quickly put out by fire crews.

There were no evacuations early Sunday morning.
