(CNN) -- Three workers were injured Wednesday when a fire broke out on a gas rig about 20 miles off the Louisiana coast, the U.S. Coast Guard said.
The incident occurred about 10:15 a.m. CT on an "inactive gas well" rig owned by Louisiana Delta, said Coast Guard Petty Officer Bill Coclough.
The workers were taken to a local hospital, he said. The Coast Guard was en route with an MH-65 helicopter to investigate, Coclough said.
