(CNN) -- Two key Taliban commanders were killed in a shootout with security forces in the most recent Pakistani offensive against the Islamic militants, according to the Pakistani military.

Two "important terrorist commanders" were killed during ongoing operations near Peshawar dubbed Spring Cleaning, the Pakistani military said in a news release Tuesday.

The commanders were identified as Muhammad Tufail, also known as Abdullah, and Muhammad Iqbal.

Authorities said Tufail was a commander who was involved in missile and rocket attacks on Nowshera Cantt and another attack on a mosque in Nowshera.

Iqbal was a key supplier of suicide bombing jackets and explosives to Islamabad and other cities in Pakistan, according to the military.
