Bomber dies in attack in Pakistan's tribal region

(CNN) -- A bomber died when he attacked the house of an elder in Orakzai Agency Monday, Pakistani police said.

An unidentified person was killed after the remote-controlled bomb he was planting outside the house of elder Malik Swab Gul exploded, Kohat Police Chief Dilawar Khan Bangash said.

No other injuries were reported in the blast.

Bangash said about 6 kilograms (13 pounds) of explosive material had been placed in a cooking pot outside the house.

Gul is a pro-government and anti-Taliban elder, according to Kohat police inspector Shah Doran.

Orakzai Agency is one of seven districts bordering the Afghanistan tribal region.
