(CNN) -- A Russian woman who did not want her daughter to fly abroad to get married told police Wednesday the daughter was going to blow up a plane, officials said.

The 33-year-old daughter intended to fly to Morocco for her wedding. But the flight from Moscow to Morocco was delayed Wednesday after the woman called to say her daughter was going to set off explosives, the internal affairs department said.

Investigators later tracked the call to a 56-year-old woman in the Russian city of Yaroslavl, east of Moscow.

The woman confessed to the call and was detained for making a terror threat, the department said.

The mother explained that her daughter "recently fell in love with a Moroccan citizen and was planning to get married to him and move to Morocco," the department said.

The woman was against the marriage and did not want her daughter to move abroad, it added.

The daughter, who was removed from the flight, was later cleared after questioning.

She then flew to Morocco.
