(CNN) -- The Israeli air force hit a weapons manufacturing facility and "terror" sites in Gaza overnight, an Israel Defense Forces spokesman said Thursday.

"The attack is in response to the rocket that was fired at Israel and damaged a factory in the Sdot Negev Regional Council on Wednesday morning, June 30th 2010," according to an IDF statement.

The weapons facility was located in northern Gaza, while a "terror tunnel and terror activity site" were located in the southern end of the Palestinian territory.

The IDF said more than 90 rockets and mortar shells have been fired at Israeli territory since the beginning of 2010.
