South African rugby’s racial divide
Rainbow nation united —
South Africa united in celebration after winning the Rugby World Cup on home soil in 1995. President Nelson Mandela, sporting the green and gold jersey of the Springboks, handed the Webb Ellis Cup to team captain Francois Pienaar.
A national symbol —
Chester Williams was the star wing of South Africa's 1995 team. As a black player, he represented what rugby in a united nation could be.

Heir apparent —
Bryan Habana has taken up Williams' mantle as the Springboks' most lethal weapon. The wing became South Africa's all-time leading try scorer when he went over for his 39th Test score against Namibia at this year's tournament.
South African Rugby Union president Oregan Hoskins says the organization puts aside $2.75 million a year to aid the development of players of color.
