(CNN) -- Three French humanitarian workers who were set free after being held captive for more than five months will soon be reunited with their families, a statement from the French Minister for Foreign and European affairs said Monday.
Alain Juppe thanked "all those who have contributed to this happy conclusion," in the statement.
The three were kidnapped May 28 in the southern Yemeni city of Say'oon, a senior Yemeni Interior Ministry official in that city said at the time.
They are in good health and are currently in Muscat in Oman, where they were taken after their release Sunday evening, the French minister's statement said.
The office of French President Nicolas Sarkozy released a statement after hearing the news of the workers' release.
"With all the French, he rejoices at their release and shares the joy with their families," the statement said.
Sarkozy credited the sultan of Oman and other Omani authorities "for their decisive help, and everyone involved with this happy ending."
Five French citizens are still being held hostage, the French minister said.
