(CNN) -- Maine State Police asked for the public's help Monday in identifying the body of a young boy found over the weekend along a remote road near the Maine-New Hampshire border.

The body of the boy, estimated to be between 4 and 5 years old, was found Saturday afternoon by a local resident. It was under a blanket and near a hemlock tree.

Lt. Brian McDonough called the boy's death suspicious.

"To date, we've probably received upwards of close to ... 100 leads," he said. "We're prioritizing those leads, getting detectives assigned and trying to close them out as quick as possible.

"Somebody has got to miss this child."

Police in Maine and New Hampshire have had no missing person's reports filed for a young boy, according to Maine police.

They released a computer-generated photo of the boy Sunday, describing him as 3 feet, 8 inches tall and weighing 45 pounds. He had blue eyes and short, dirty blond hair.

When police found him, the boy was wearing a gray camouflage hooded sweatshirt, tan pants and a navy blue T-shirt with "Aviator Series" printed on the front.

"We're pleading to the public to help us identify this young boy," said Lt. Col. Robert Williams, chief of Maine State Police.

"The state police have brought all their resources to bear on this and we're just waiting for the public to help us get some clue on where to go from here."
