Several injured in California bus crash

(CNN) -- Several people were injured after a bus carrying forest firefighters crashed Monday evening in southern California.

The crashed occurred on a stretch of road in the city of Palmdale, said Don Kunitomi, an inspector with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

At least nine people were injured and three were trapped inside the bus, CNN affiliate KTLA reported Monday evening.

The fire crew was rushing to a blaze when the bus crashed, the affiliate reported.
