(CNN) -- A deadly accident in the China's Liaoning Province has left nine dead and 13 injured, according to state-run Xinhua news agency.
A bus, carrying 47 passengers, rear-ended a truck along the Beijing-Shenyang Expressway around 3:30 p.m. Sunday Xinhua said.
Investigators told the agency the truck came to an abrupt stop after its wheels locked up.
Five, including the driver and the conductor, were declared dead at the scene, the agency reported. The dispatch did not account for where the other four died.
The remaining injured passengers were transported to area hospitals where they remain in stable condition, Xinhua said.
A similar accident occurred at the beginning of July, when a long-dispance passenger bus was rear-ended by a truck in Central China -- 23 passengers were killed.
Both vehicles crashed through guardrails along the Suizhou-Yueyang expressway and caught fire, Xinhua said.
