A car bombing kills one person in the second incident

The checkpoint was in the town of al-Asoud, north of Baquba, which is about 37 miles (60 kilometers) north of the capital Baghdad.
It was one of two fatal attacks carried out in the country Sunday.
At least one person was killed in the other incident – a car bombing in the al-Dawasa commercial neighborhood of central Mosul on Sunday afternoon.
Three people were wounded in the bombing, including two police officers, authorities said.
