London's 2012 Olympic Village, which will house thousands of gold medal hopefuls, was handed over to Games organizers six months to the day before opening ceremonies begin.
This picture, released by the Olympic Delivery Authority, offers a glimpse of what lies within the grounds of the purpose-built accomodation, which consists of 2,800 apartments.
In 2009, some 1,400 of the apartments were sold for $400 million to be rented by London's local government bodies. The Qatari government bought the remaining apartments in an $800 million deal which will also see it own and manage the village.
Britain's four-time Olympic rowing gold medalist Matthew Pinsent was on hand to help move some of the 16,000 beds into the complex.
In addition to the thousands of beds, 11,000 sofas and 5,000 toilet brushes will be brought in before the Games begin on July 27.
Pinsent, who claimed his medals in the coxless four and coxless pair rowing events, also helped to bed the plants which will decorate the complex's communal areas.
The Olympic Park is also nearly completed ahead of the four-yearly Games' opening ceremony.
