Three people arrested in Denmark on suspicion of planning a terror attack appeared in a Copenhagen court Saturday, police said.

They were charged with illegal possession of automatic weapons and ammunition, Copenhagen police spokesman Lars Krappe said.

The suspects are a 22-year-old Jordanian citizen, a 23-year-old Turkish citizen who lives in Denmark, and a 21-year-old Danish citizen who lives in Egypt, according to Denmark’s Security and Intelligence Service.

The three will be held in prison for the next 26 days, for the first 12 days of which they will be held in isolation, Krappe said.

The prosecutor in the case is still investigating and there may be more charges to come, he added.

The three suspects were arrested Friday morning in raids on two addresses in the Danish capital.

Searches were carried out at a number of properties in the Copenhagen area in connection with the terror investigation, the intelligence service said.
