London, England (CNN) -- Prince Philip has been a constant companion to the Queen, playing the dutiful role of Queen's consort during their 64 years of marriage.
But during this time the Duke of Edinburgh has become an expert in what he describes as "dontopedalogy... The science of opening your mouth and putting your foot in it, a science which I have practiced for a good many years."
