A civilian died in another

CNN  —

Bombs killed five people died on Saturday in southern Afghanistan on Saturday, the U.S. military said.

The deaths occurred in Helmand province.

A bomb killed four members of a family on Saturday. An improvised explosive device struck two adults and two children riding a motorcycle.

In another incident, near Lashkar Gah, an IED killed a civilian and wounded three others.

“As a result of the Taliban’s careless tactic of placing IEDs in areas where civilians could be harmed, they are knowingly killing innocent Afghan children, women, and men,” said Lt. Col. Stewart Upton, spokesperson for Regional Command Southwest of NATO’s International Security Assistance Force.
