A suspected U.S. drone strike killed 12 militants Monday evening in Pakistan's tribal region bordering Afghanistan, two Pakistani intelligence officials told CNN.

Four missiles were fired on a militant hideout in the area of Shawal Daray Nishtar of North Waziristan, one of the seven districts of the tribal region, the officials said.
