24 killed in South Africa bus crash

(CNN) -- A bus carrying members of a church group crashed in South Africa's Western Cape province on Friday, killing 24 of the people aboard, police said.

The driver, who was among those killed, lost control of the bus as he was approaching a curve, said Warrant Officer Lindikhaya Mkhontwana of the South African Police Service.

The bus was carrying more than 60 people, police said.
