3 UK soldiers killed in Afghanistan

(CNN) -- The three coalition soldiers killed in southern Afghanistan on Tuesday are British, the Defence Ministry said on Wednesday.

The three died when their vehicle was struck by a roadside bomb during a patrol in the Nahr-e Saraj district of Helmand province, where most UK forces are based.

The soldiers are from the Royal Regiment of Scotland.
