Islamabad, Pakistan (CNN) -- Armed militants torched an empty container truck Tuesday as it traveled through Pakistan after delivering equipment to U.S. and NATO troops in Afghanistan, police told CNN.
The incident occurred in Balochistan province, when two armed militants opened fire on the Karachi-bound vehicle, forcing the truck to stop and the driver to flee.
"The militants then came close and set the container on fire using petrol," police officer Qazi Pervaiz told CNN.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility. It's the latest in a series of attacks in the province on NATO trucks traveling to and from Afghanistan.
